Philip Newcombe, Social Water, 2022 , Water from 8-litre bottles of water exchanged between each other. Dimensions, volume and amounts of contained water are variable. Start with no less than three 8-litre bottles and increase this number incrementally throughout time to the maximum amount of forever. Expand this activity outdoors if necessary; go into the street, into a town, a city, a country, a continent. The amount of water and how and where to place the bottles is left to the discretion of the person installing the work. However, all bottles must be placed next to a wall, never free standing in a space. At the end of the exhibition all of the water should be poured down the closest gutter in the street for the rats. The bottles should be disposed of responsibly. This text is written from the perspective of someone looking out of the window of a speeding train, watching cows drinking water from a trough, a man urinating against the wheel of a car and a punctured inflatable swimming pool.
