Chen-Yun(1988, Taiwan)

Chen Yun, a Taiwanese artist born in Yilan in 1988, earned a Masters degree in Fine Arts from the Taipei National University of the Arts and presently resides in Taipei. Her paintings are characterized by a montage of narrative components that capture submerged memories. Through carefully planned compositions, Chen conceals reality and time, offering only limited clues, such as fixed-focus scenes, close-ups of hands, women's backs, and microscopic images of objects or symbols, for viewers to piece together and interpret independently. Chen's works guide the viewer into the depths of memory with a faint light, evoking a sense of familiarity as they bring to the surface the memories and dreams of life.

Chen Yun's artistic contributions have garnered recognition, including nomination for the Taipei Arts Awards in 2012, an Outstanding Art Prize from the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2011, and the Long Yen Foundation Creative Arts Award in 2009. Notable solo exhibitions featuring her works include Between Sleep and Wakefulness at YIRI ARTS, Taipei (2018), and Murmuring in the Haze at YIRI ARTS, Kaohsiung (2015). She has also participated in group exhibitions such as Borders and Beyond at LIN & LIN GALLERY, Taipei (2017), SHE: International Women Artist Exhibition at Long Museum West Bound, Shanghai (2016), and The Spine of Spectrum at Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei (2015).

Chen Yun's works are held in museum collections such as the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung, the Long Museum in Shanghai, and the Long Yen Foundation in Taipei.
