Mestre Manuel Graziano Cardozo
(1923-2000)

Cardozo was a sculptor whose visionary carvings emerged from the red soils of Ceará’s rural northeast. It wasn’t until the mid-1980s, well into his sixties, that he began crafting larger, expressive sculptures—depicting saints, fantastical beasts, and biblical visions with a raw, spiritual energy.
