Birk Bjørlo I Waste Land
22.01 - 14.03 2026

Waste Land marks Birk Bjørlo's first exhibition with Brigade, presenting a new body of work unfolding across large-scale abstract oil paintings alongside smaller works with figurative silhouettes in oil, layered with wax and glass. The exhibition extends Bjørlo's exploration of painting as a space where perception remains unsettled, where opposing states intersect and established meanings begin to dissolve. Within this condition, a new potential emerges: a space where form, rhythm, and presence remain in flux.

Birk Bjørlo (b. 1986, Hønefoss, Norway) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2014. Bjørlo's work has been exhibited at Skal Contemporary (Denmark), AURA Kunstraum (Germany), Møstingshus (Denmark), Gammel Strand (Denmark), Elephant Kunsthall (Norway), Trignac Projects (France), Gether Contemporary (Denmark), Showroom (Sweden), &Model (UK), Galerie Weissraum (Japan), among others. His work is included in the collections of Ny Carlsbergfondet and the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond). Birk Bjørlo lives and works in Måløv, Denmark.
