Patrick Tshcudi (Lima, 1973) studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (diploma in Painting), at the Geneva School of Fine Arts (diploma in Visual Arts) and at the Geneva University of Art and Design (postgraduate degree in Art and New Media), where he worked for three years in the Art and New Media department until 2011, when he returned to Lima, Peru, where he currently works and resides.
“Always intrigued by the geometric shapes and patterns that, despite time and place, continue to lodge in our collective memory, Patrick Tschudi ventures into an exploration that migrates from the sociological observation, present in his previous works, to an internal look that questions not only the world that contains it, but also how it moves and impacts us.
The artist thus proposes to dust off the links between the abstract and the concrete, to turn to our memory, inviting us to reflect on the communication that everyone resolves between the two planes.
The series Tramas is related to the artist's intrigue for the geometric patterns that are repeated in different cultures. It is a personal response to diverse experiences that have led him to navigate through those alternate worlds where these forms inhabit and that today the artist offers us as a result of that journey”.
