Sarasija Subramanian is an artist based in Bangalore. She graduated from M.S.U. Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda, in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in painting, and has been a resident at 1Shanthiroad Studio, Bangalore (2018), Art+Science Residency, Interface at the Inagh Valley Trust, Ireland (2017), Space118 Studios, Mumbai (2017), the Building Bridges Project with EAS, USA (2017), the Inlaks-UNIDEE Residency at Cittadellarte, Italy (2016) and will be a resident at Zentralwerk Studios, Dresden, in collaboration with Goethe (2020). She is the editor at Reliable Copy, an independent, non-profit publishing house dedicated to the realisation and circulation of works, projects, and writing by artists.
She has had a solo ‘They walk amongst us, don’t they’ at 1Shanthiroad Studio, Bangalore (2018), and has participated in several group shows including 'A Voyage of Seemingly Propulsive Speed and an Apparent Absolute Stillness', Gallery Ark (2020), ‘The Print: Matter in Matrix’, presented by Latitude 28, Delhi (2020), ‘Material Gains’ and Embark, Gallery Ark, Vadodara (2018-2019), ‘Curatorial Enquiry: Act I’, Site Art Space, Vadodara (2018), ‘Incomplete Nature’, Interface, Ireland (2018), ‘Building Bridges’ with EAS USA, A.M. Gallery, Kolkata, Art Konsult, New Delhi, and Gallery Sumukha, Bangalore (2018), and Art el Centro, Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella, Italy (2016).
