Wizard Gallery is proud to present a summer pop-up exhibition Dreams, a group show held in a unique room where nine artists are inspired by the idea of dreams from the depth of subconsciousness. Through whimsical color palettes and familiar, yet illusionary shapes, the artists of Dream invite viewers to reflect on the human mind. Beginning with Planking and Hiding by Attila Szucs, where only a single, recognizable figure occupies the canvas, the painting vacuums spectators in and welcomes them in to a surreal, metaphysical dimension shared between all the compositions. The exhibition creates a dialogue between representation of people dreaming, as in the works of Diango Hernandez, Danilo Bucella, Luigi Serafini and Vanessa Stockard and fantastical world of dreams in works by Franklin Evans, Agnese Guido and Carlos Alvarez Las Heras.
While dreams present themselves differently from person to person, all people dream and consequently, any viewer can appreciate the stories told by the artists’ subconsciouses. Geometrical dreamy work by Marko Lađušić, presented in the gallery for the first time draws inspiration from everyday life and childhood while striving to present the desired imaginary reality. His three- dimensional “structure” is constantly playing with perception and understanding, thus inviting the viewer to participate in the construction and discovery of limitless layers and meanings behind the artwork. His works will be presented in the Serbian Pavillion at the 23rd Triennale Milano International Exhibition which opens to the public on July 15th.
