AARON SCHUMAN

Aaron Schuman is a photographer, writer, curator and educator based in the United Kingdom. He is the author of several critically-acclaimed photographic monographs, including Sonata (MACK, 2022), Slant (MACK, 2019) and Folk (NB Books, 2016). Schuman’s photographic work is regularly exhibited and published internationally, and is held in numerous public and private collections. He has contributed photographic works and texts to many books and exhibitions, as well as to a wide variety of magazines and publications including Aperture, Foam, Frieze, TIME, the British Journal of Photography, and more. Additionally, he has curated several major photographic festivals – including Krakow Photomonth 2014 and JaipurPhoto 2018 – as well as exhibitions for international museums, institutions and galleries such as FOMU Antwerp, FotoFest, and the Royal Photographic Society. Schuman is Associate Professor of Photography & Visual Culture - as well as the founder and Programme Leader of the MA Photography programme - at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
