Themes of omnipresent dread and the ever shifting nature of one’s life have long been the connecting tissue. These recent paintings show the body as a site of psychological terror; the inner manifested on the outer. Impossible situations and moments of brutal clarity are presented within a saturated reality. Some sugar with the medicine.
As an overall, never-ending project, Attempts weave a narrative of impermanence and the fragility of self with modes of making coming and going, echoing the ebb and flow of relationships, situations and experiences.
