Gavin MITCHELL

STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED

According to contemporary artist Gavin Mitchell, the phrase that best describes his work is ‘mixed up’. From his inspirations to his processes to his use of materials, all the way to the finished product, Mitchell’s aesthetic is determined by an idea of disorder and deconstruction, pulling apart the ordinary to put it back together in extraordinary ways. Gavin challenges cultural norms by confronting our preconceived notions of Japanese culture. The layered images offer investigations into how East and West aesthetics can juxtapose and at the same time harmonise. This is a catalogue of work showing new releases and other available artwork.

All are produced as strictly limited editions and are available in different sizes.
