193 Gallery is pleased to participate in the Design Miami Fair, Basel edition from June 10 to 16, 2024. On this occasion, we are proud to present a new series of design works conceived and hand-crafted by artist Ben Arpéa. This original exhibition explores the perfect symbiosis between the organic forms that we see in his paintings and everyday functionality, offering a fresh perspective on furniture and interior design.

Ben Arpéa draws its inspiration from the heart of nature, exploring the richness of shapes, textures and colors offered by the world around us. From the soft, curving lines of the Mediterranean shore to the raw texture of wood and stone, each piece in the collection invites a dialogue between the natural environment and the living space, and a tribute to the infinite palette offered by our environment.

The selection of materials - wood, stone, concrete, and ceramics - is sublimated by a bold and thoughtful application of color, where each nuance tells a story, evokes an emotion, creating a dialogue between the object, the space and the user. Beyond color, it's the material that takes center stage in this collection. Each texture, plays with light and shadow to bring the space to life. This attention to material not only enriches the visual aspect of each object, but also invites a tactile experience, where touch becomes an integral part of artistic discovery.

Ben Arpéa’s artworks have been exhibited internationally in cities such as Hong Kong, Dubai, Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York, Geneva, Brussels and Paris. His work was particularly presented in Paris, as part of the project “Chambre à part”, led by renowned French curator Laurence Dreyfus.
