Across Horizons: Voices from the Global South

“Across Horizons: Voices from the Global South” At Art Dubai 2025, Verduyn Gallery presents three artists whose works transcend geography and material, weaving a dialogue between tradition and transformation. Alberto Lamback (Brazil), Maria Abaddon (Peru), and Raúl Cordero (Cuba)—three powerful voices from the Global South.

Alberto Lamback’s floral paintings capture the fleeting essence of nature, evoking cycles of renewal, impermanence, and the quiet spirituality embedded in botanical forms. His delicate yet expressive brushwork offers a meditation on time and beauty, resonating deeply with Middle Eastern artistic sensibilities.

Maria Abaddon transforms landscapes into dreamlike visions, where color, texture, and surreal forms merge to create a sense of both wonder and unease. His work oscillates between reality and illusion, revealing the fragile boundaries between nature and human perception.

Raúl Cordero’s atmospheric compositions dissolve the edges between image and text, memory and erasure. Through a masterful interplay of light and blur, his work slows time, inviting introspection and dialogue between presence and absence.

Together, these artists create a space where art is not confined by geography but enriched by its fluidity. In “Across Horizons”, Verduyn Gallery offers a collection of works that reflect on identity, memory, and the poetic impermanence of the world around us.
