Layers to Essence by Korean contemporary artist Seungtaik Jang, his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong. The exhibition centers on the artist’s signature
Layered Painting series, reflecting his ongoing exploration of color, process, and the very nature of painting. By focusing on color, the most basic yet fundamental element of painting, Jang investigates what painting can be beyond representation. The light that emerges between layers exists as both material and perception, guiding viewers to uncover the essence of painting through the quiet intensity of layered color.
