Fragments of Becoming
In Fragments of Becoming, Andreas Senoner (°1982, Italy) explores themes such as metamorphosis, heritage, and stratification — on both a symbolic and material level. His sculptures investigate the relationship between the individual, the ever-shifting context in which they exist, and the elements that drive transformation.
Senoner works with distinctive materials, primarily of animal and plant origin: wood, feathers, lichens, fabric, and beeswax. The history and origin of each material play a central role in his practice, as do the traces of time they carry. Wood — his preferred medium — acts as a vessel of memory, a tangible archive of what has been, what is, and what is yet to come.
Drawing from traditional sculptural techniques, yet always with a contem- porary lens, Senoner seeks a visual language that resonates with the physical nature of his materials and the stories he tells. His sculptures open a conver- sation with the viewer, bringing forgotten or dormant memories to the surface.
We warmly invite you to discover this new body of work during Art Brussels.
