Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2025

Blue Shop Gallery
is exhibiting for the 5th time at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and this year we are thrilled to bring a selection of exquisite 1/1 totally unique monotypes by 6 artists. Print can be traditionally static but you can expect to find bursts of colour, pigment, expression and emotion in our selection of works this year. Made with a variety of exciting processes all 6 artists are pushing the boundaries of print and colour. Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, the leading international art fair for original contemporary print, presents a unique alternative model that is revolutionising the traditional art market, disrupting the elitist nature of art fairs, and pushing the boundaries of print.

A monotype is a unique print made by painting or drawing ink or another material onto a smooth surface, like glass or metal, and then transferring it to paper. Because the image is hand-created on a non-permanent surface, each print is a one-of-a-kind piece, making the process closer to painting or drawing than other printmaking techniques. The result is a single, unique impression, though sometimes a lighter "ghost" print can be pulled from the plate afterward.
