Ed Panar is a photographer and bookmaker whose interest in photography started in high school as an amateur, photographing his everyday surroundings, friends and acquaintances. Meditating on the contrast between reality and photography has been a source of fascination for him ever since. Being a non-driver, his work is largely focused on exploring the places he’s lived and their immediate surroundings by walking, bicycling, and public transportation.

Ed Panar received his BA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries all over the world, including Museum of Contemporary Photography, Studio Bee, The Emporium Gallery, Concept Art Gallery, Silver Eye Center for Photography, Carnegie Museum of Art, Space Gallery, Shenandoah Museum of Contemporary Art, and many more. His work is represented in permanent collections including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Contemporary Photography, and more. He is featured in many publications including In the Vicinity by Deadbeat Club, April Flowers by Spaces Corners, Aperture #238, and many more books and magazines. He is the co-founder of Spaces Corners located in Pittsburgh.
