Felipe Jesus Consalvos (1891-1960)

Born in Havana in 1891, Felipe Jesus Consalvos (1891–1960, Cuba/USA) emigrated to Miami in 1920, working as a cigar roller. His work was rediscovered through a garage sale. Known for cigar band découpage, Consalvos’ collages reflect a dadaist spirit, with his pieces now in major museum collections.
