Kennedy Contemporary is excited to present
Moments of Joy, the highly anticipated second solo exhibition by Santa Fe-based encaustic artist
Amy Van Winkle. Running from
September 11th to
October 13th, this exhibition will feature a collection of works that capture fleeting yet profound moments of joy in everyday life. Celebrated for her mastery of the ancient encaustic technique, Amy has earned international acclaim for her ability to blend intricate detail with minimalist elements. Her journey into encaustic painting, a method dating back to the 5th century BC, involves meticulously applying 20 to 30 layers of pigmented beeswax onto a porous wood panel. Each layer is then heated and scraped away, revealing subtle hints of color and texture beneath the surface. Stop by the gallery during Amy's exhibition to view her works in person - each piece captures the essence of emotion and transports it's viewer to a distant memory.
We are thrilled to invite our collectors and friends to our opening night celebration of
Moments of Joy - join us on
Thursday, September 12th from
4pm - 6pm to explore the collection, engage in lively conversation, and meet fellow art lovers.
