Galerie Poggi

Nikita Kadan

BORN IN 1982 IN KIEV

Since its creation, the gallery collaborated with artistic and intellectual personalities from Eastern Europe, Caucasus, from Russia to Asia Minor, without any distinction of nationalities, in the same spirit of humanism, respect, and freedom for everyone. As written by the curator Sasha Pevak during an exhibition at the gallery in 2018, "Border is a State of Mind." In the current context, this statement, more than ever, resonates with us.

Today, we feel concerned by the situation in Ukraine and, more generally speaking, in Russia and Eastern European countries. Moreover, we are especially apprehensive about the artist Nikita Kadan who is currently hidden in Kyiv in the Voloshyn Gallery - an underground exhibition space that has been reconverted into a bomb shelter, just as it was during Soviet times.

To support Nikita and his relatives, those directly threatened by the war, the gallery presents a selection of works by Nikita Kadan. The money raised will go directly to the artist and the emergency fund created by the collective 'Beyond the Post-Soviet.'

In advance, thank you for your support and generosity. If you couldn't acquire work but still wish to support the cause, either financially or materially, we would be happy to connect you with numerous contacts we have that have taken different initiatives.
