Peter McDonald was appointed as a short-term visiting Fellow at Jesus College Oxford in 2022. The new one-year Fellowships were a first for Jesus College, with an aim to enhance both the College’s art collection, and the artistic life of its community. McDonald had access to the College’s buildings, libraries and archives, and was able to spend time with members of the Jesus community. The series on crystallography started from a conversation over lunch with a Professor of Crystallography at the Senior Common Room whilst the works of students on laptops are based on observations around the college.
