El arte de Olinda Silvano nace de la memoria ancestral del pueblo Shipibo-Konibo. A través del kené, los diseños geométricos heredados de su abuela y ancestros, transmite la sabiduría, energía y espíritu de la Amazonía. Cada línea es una canción, una historia de resistencia y una forma de visibilizar la fuerza de las mujeres indígenas. Su obra, que dialoga con lo contemporáneo sin perder su esencia, preserva la tradición y crea un puente entre la selva y la ciudad, lo ancestral y lo moderno. Crear kené es sanar, recordar y afirmar sus raíces, invitando a otros a ver que el arte de su pueblo sigue vivo, transformándose y resistiendo.

Olinda Silvano’s art emerges from the ancestral memory of the Shipibo-Konibo people. Through kené, the geometric designs inherited from her grandmother and ancestors, she conveys the wisdom, energy, and spirit of the Amazon. Each line is a song, a story of resistance, and a way to make visible the strength of Indigenous women. Her work engages with contemporary forms without losing its essence, preserving tradition and bridging the forest and the city, the ancestral and the modern. Creating kené is her way of healing, remembering, and affirming her roots, inviting others to see that her people’s art continues to live, transform, and resist.
