THE REALITY BEHIND

We are delighted to present The Reality Behind, an exhibition that brings together the works of Salvo (1947-2015, Italy), Chico da Silva (1910/1922-1985, Brazil), and Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato (1900-1995, Brazil), alongside a few other major modern and contemporary artists. Despite their varied backgrounds, these three artists shared a common vision: transforming the everyday into the extraordinary. Through their eyes, simple landscapes, urban scenes, and cultural motifs are reimagined with vivid colours, rich textures, and inventive narratives.

Our booth explores how each artist uses personal and cultural narratives to elevate ordinary scenes into extraordinary art, inspired by their unique artistic journeys. This curated juxtaposition of works by Chico da Silva, Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato, and Salvo, with complementary pieces from other major artists, unveils each artist’s powerful, inner reality. Together, they allow visitors a glimpse into what we call The Reality Behind.

Chico da Silva was inspired by his indigenous heritage and cultural roots, and specifically the Amazon rainforest.

• Through landscapes, Salvo and Lorenzato reveal hidden truths, personal stories, and metaphysical visions.

Yayoi Kusama channels her mental health experiences, particularly her hallucinations and obsessions, to reinvent a psychological map of her inner world.

George Rickey and Takis were both inspired by perpetual motion, scientific curiosity, and the principles of engineering.

Lee Dong Youb’s practice reveals a meditative exploration of art and a dialogue between the visible and invisible.

• Finally, works by Turi Simeti capture a dynamic interplay of colour and form, presenting each piece as an active experience.

• Takashi Murakami blends pop culture with Japanese tradition to offer an uplifting visual experience.
