TRACE METALS brings together a group of international artists united by a mutual interest in urbanity, using the city itself as both raw material and conceptual playground. The exhibition is the result of an ongoing, long-term dialogue between artist Bram Braam and Stephen Burke, artist andfounder of the influential Instagram platform Post Vandalism.
The project traces its origins back to 2019, when Burke launched Post Vandalism on Instagram. What began as a niche digital archive quickly grew into a vital global movement. Although artists in art history were dealing with similar topics for a long time, something changed through the use of the term “Post Vandalism.” It brought a new energy to the field, bringing in people from graffiti culture alongside people interested in urbanism, architecture, and activism.
