Photography has always been a way of holding on—to a person, a place, a moment, or a feeling. Traces considers what remains after the moment has passed: the fragments, impressions, memories, and marks that linger. Bringing together seven artist practices represented by Bildhalle, the exhibition explores photography as both image and physical object: a way to reconstruct memory, make time visible, and transform fleeting moments into something enduring.

Across handmade papers, layered surfaces, painterly light, and acts of preservation, these 25 works invite a slower, closer look.
