'Fan Girl' by Nina Mae Fowler
Nina Mae Fowler (b. 1981, London, UK) is a British artist whose practice interrogates the mythology of Hollywood, using drawing as a means to both reconstruct and unsettle its most enduring icons. In her latest body of work, 'Fan Girl' (2026) captures the moment when the façade cracks: a clumsy dancer, or figures caught mid-falter. As the fans move and the feathers lift, there is an instinct, trained by a century of spectacle, to anticipate something underneath, but there is nothing left to reveal.
