RACHEL WOOD | NEW WORKS
Rachel Wood is an award-winning contemporary ceramic artist with an international reputation for her heavily textured hand-built, and thrown and altered, stoneware vessels. Inspired by landscape, Wood creates tactile, visceral ceramics, swathed with layers of slip and glaze to create depth and mystery. The marks from fingers, tools, and making processes have always been an intrinsic part of the character of her work.

Wood trained at Loughborough College of Art & Design, gaining a BA (Hons) Ceramics in 1999. She has exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad, with works held in many private and public collections in: Denmark; Germany; and Australia. She has lectured and been a residential tutor for art schools in the UK, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Australia. Wood is a member of the Craft Potters Association; the Crafts Council Directory; and the Northern Potters Association.

Note: Wood is being shown for the first time in St Ives.
