Named after the Swiss collector Josef Müller,
Les Barbus Müller were an anonymous group of stone carvings owned by
Jean Dubuffet, André Breton, Tristan Tzara and Alfred Barnes. These satirical figures inaugurated Le Foyer de l’Art Brut and were considered to be among its most important finds. In recent years, their author has been revealed as
Antoine Rabany, a former soldier with a yard-show of carved figures surrounding his hilltop farm.
