La exposición individual Lo Arbóreo de Lin Calle en MEMORIA Carabanchel (C/ Morenés Arteaga 18), se presenta en diálogo, aunque preservando su carácter propio, con una exposición homónima del ceramista Gustavo Pérez en MEMORIA Centro, ambas sobre este eje compartido.
A partir de la proliferación y saturación de imágenes en masa por dispositivos digitales se ha producido un agotamiento de nuestro imaginario. Por ello, el diálogo en las exposiciones adquiere importancia crítica, explorando los límites de lo visible, en la tensión entre lo material e inmaterial. Sus búsquedas por un relativo vaciamiento contemplativo profundizan una transfiguración en el campo de lo sensible hacia el detenimiento.
Contrarias a las imposiciones de la contaminación visual contemporánea, las obras de Pérez y Calle invitan a que uno se les acerque en otros ritmos y tiempos, ralentizando la mirada hacia una inmersión meditativa. A partir del shinrin yoku japonés, o baño forestal - dónde uno se dedica a absorber la atmósfera del bosque desde la calma, tratando de tomarse el tiempo para percibir el ambiente desde lo sensorial -, ambos artistas conciben sus trabajos como un esfuerzo por generar un espacio de reflexión que agudice la percepción integral y física de los mismos.
The solo exhibition Lo Arbóreo by artist Lin Calle at MEMORIA Carabanchel (C/ Morenés Arteaga 18), is presented in dialogue, while preserving its own character, with an homonymous exhibition by ceramist Gustavo Pérez at MEMORIA Centro, both on this shared common axis.
Drawing from the proliferation and saturation of mass-produced images by digital devices, there has been a depletion of our imagination. Thus the critical importance of the dialogue proposed in these exhibitions, as they display the emergence of works from the limits of the visible, in the tension between the material and the immaterial. Their quest for relatively hollowing contemplation deepens a transfiguration in the field of the sensitive towards a pause.
Contrary to the impositions of contemporary visual pollution, the works of Pérez and Calle incite an approach in other rhythms and times, slowing down the gaze towards a meditative immersion. Stemming from Japanese shinrin yoku, or forest bathing - where one is bound to absorb the woodlands in calmness, taking the time to perceive the environment from a sensorial standpoint -, both artists conceive their works as an effort for creating a space of reflection that sharpens a full and physical perception of those artworks.
