Xxijra Hii is pleased to present Vapour Oblique, a three-person exhibition with Oriane Emery, Noah El Hachem and Roland Knowlden Jr., hosted by DS Galerie, Paris, as part of the inaugural edition of DSG WELCOMES.
Bringing together painting and sculpture, the exhibition considers the nebulous as a form of protection, rebellion and transformation. Across the three practices, identity is not presented as a fixed position or a resolved narrative, but as something assembled through fragments: a stain, an eye, a curve, a domestic gesture, a spatial clue, a withheld inheritance. What travels through these works is never fully exposed. It is carried, re-routed, partially translated and sometimes deliberately kept out of reach.

Réunissant peinture et sculpture, l’exposition envisage le nébuleux comme une forme de protection, de rébellion et de transformation. Dans les pratiques des trois artistes, l’identité n’est pas présentée comme une position fixe ou un récit résolu, mais comme quelque chose qui s’assemble à partir de fragments : une tache, un œil, une courbe, un geste domestique, un indice spatial, un héritage retenu. Ce qui circule à travers ces œuvres n’est jamais entièrement dévoilé. Cela est transporté, détourné, partiellement traduit et parfois délibérément maintenu hors d’atteinte.
