For Art Luxembourg, we’re organizing a duo presentation with two artists whose works are careful exercises in observation; Thé van Bergen and Mirthe Klück. Both artists put material first, guided by everyday impressions and (incomplete) motifs.
Mirthe Klück's ceramics are enlargements of mass-produced objects that are part of our so-called collective memory. Her visual elements and repetitive patterns seem familiar, yet not at all. Thé van Bergen's paintings are not premeditated. The language of form emerges fromthe paint; it is not guided by emotion, narration or figuration, but by matter.
