For the 8th edition of the A ppr oc he show, Benoît Lefeuvre presents for the first time Rooted, a series based on vernacular images of landscapes and forest details gleaned from the Internet. Left lying in the soil, these silver negatives transform, reflecting how memory buries our recollections over time. The laser engraving of the photographs melts into the irregularity of the fun- gal matter, revealing hidden moments. At the same time, he is exhibiting Mémoire de L’île d’Her, a triptych that extends the L’île d’Her series. Created from the transformation of aged photosensitive supports, this body of images captures the essence of the marine environment, where the memories of the previous series have been forgotten. Together, these two series explore memory and its anchorage in nature through organic and sensory processes.
