Wu Chia-Yun (n. 1988, Taiwán) es artista y cineasta radicada en Nueva York. Obtuvo un MA en Comunicación Visual por el Royal College of Art y un MFA en Cine (Motion Picture) por la Universidad Nacional de las Artes de Taiwán. Su práctica combina imagen en movimiento y dispositivos espaciales, expandiéndose del cine hacia la instalación y el arte conceptual. A partir de herramientas propias del lenguaje cinematográfico —narración, puesta en escena y construcción de atmósferas— desarrolla investigaciones transmediales que hacen que la imagen atraviese distintos soportes y modos de percepción.
Paralelamente, Wu realiza películas de ficción en las que personajes y tramas articulan relatos vitales difíciles de nombrar, abordando cuestiones de pertenencia, libertad y condición humana. Sus obras exploran las turbulencias latentes bajo la aparente calma y atienden a dimensiones invisibles —afectivas, espirituales y sociales— que configuran la experiencia contemporánea.
Su primer film fue seleccionado por The European Independent Film Channel (Francia, 2015). Entre sus proyecciones destacadas se encuentran Proyector Festival de Videoarte (España, 2019, 2022), European Media Art Festival (Alemania, 2020), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (Francia, 2021) y London Short Film Festival (Reino Unido, 2022), entre otras. Su trabajo se ha presentado en instituciones internacionales como ICA London, el Musée du Louvre, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlín), BilbaoArte Fundazioa y MNAC Lisboa, entre otras. Ha participado en residencias como el “Taipei–Québec Exchange Program” (Canadá, 2022) y “NIDA. Meeting Photography” (Lituania, 2022), y recibió la Director Fellowship del International Center of Photography (EE. UU., 2022).
Born in 1988, Taiwan, Wu Chia Yun is an artist and filmmaker based in New York. She received an MA in Visual Communication from the Royal College of Art and an MFA in Motion Picture from the National Taiwan University of Arts. Her works are a mixture of image and have expanded from film to installation and conceptual art. She has applied the technique of film narration, mise-en-scène and cinematic language into the experiments in transmedia and has developed moving images that penetrate different mediums. In addition to the expansion of images, Wu also makes fiction films. She uses characters and plots to narrate the indescribable life stories and discuss the sense of belonging, freedom, and human condition, reflecting the turbulence under the peace and unveiling the unseeable nature of spirits.
Wu's first film has been included in The European Independent Film Channel (France, 2015). Important screenings including Proyector Festival de Videoarte (Spain, 2019, 2022), European Media Art Festival, (Germany, 2020), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (France, 2021), London Short Film Festival (UK, 2022) and more. Her works have been exhibited at some international institutions such as ICA London, Louvre Museum, Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, BilbaoArte Fundazioa, MNAC Lisbon amongst others. Wu has participated in artist residencies "Taipei-Québec Exchange Program" (Canada, 2022) and International Photography Symposium "NIDA. Meeting Photography" (Lithuania, 2022); has also been awarded the Director Fellowship by the International Center of Photography (USA, 2022).
1988年出生，吳家昀為臺灣導演和視覺藝術家，畢業於英國皇家藝術學院視覺傳達研究所及國立臺灣藝術大學電影碩士班，現居紐約。他的創作以電影為實踐起點，進而展開至空間裝置及觀念性的編導，將敘事方法、場面調度、鏡頭語言等延伸至跨媒體的實驗，發展出穿透在媒材間的動態－靜態影像；除了影像擴延創作，他也拍攝劇情電影，透過人物及情節敘述無以名狀的生命問題，探究歸屬感、自由、人的狀態等處境，反映平靜中的隱晦動盪，呈現日常情感的不可視和不可觸。
他的首部電影典藏於歐洲獨立電影頻道（法國，2015），重要參展包括：放映機錄像藝術節（西班牙，2019、2022）、歐洲媒體藝術節（德國，2020）、國際相會影展（法國，2021）、倫敦短片電影節（英國，2022）等，曾於倫敦當代藝術中心、巴黎羅浮宮劇院、柏林世界文化中心、畢爾包藝術基金會、里斯本國立當代藝術館等國際機構出；他也曾參與臺北魁北克交流計畫的駐地劇本寫作（加拿大，2022）和尼達國際攝影論壇的駐地創作（立陶宛，2022），並獲得紐約國際攝影中心的導演獎金（美國，2022）。
