In The Light Of

The curatorial premise of In The Light Of draws its inspiration from a story around two photographic images, taken by artist friends Nasreen Mohamedi and Gulammohammed Sheikh, during a visit to Fatehpur Sikri in the summer of 1970. In the note accompanying the exhibition, the curator recounts how her initial fleeting encounter with the photographs resulted in a series of misremembrances. The story of the images, as remembered by Sheikh, and the confabulation, courtesy of the curator, form the seed of this show. Time, meaning, perception, history, memory, friendship, and the phenomenon of happenstance are some of the key conceptual touchpoints of this exhibition.
In The Light Of, curated by Gitanjali Dang will feature 25 artists. The show opens on January 29, 2021 and continues until May 15, 2021.
