“I aim to use traditionally functional household objects, such as rugs, as a mechanism for otherworldly storytelling. I enjoy the challenge of conveying complex emotions with a simple facial expression, and exploring the limitations of translating imagery to fibrous material.
When looking at the world around me, I am typically drawn to the outlines of forms, then the colors within. I find inspiration in medieval marginalia, folk horror, antiquities and oddities, and all living creatures that display a great deal of personality. My desire is for each of my projects to tell a story to the viewer, whether it consists of a singular surface or multiple panels.”
