Wonder
noun
1. A feeling of amazement and admiration, caused by something remarkable, or unfamiliar.
2. A period of questioning, thought and reflection.

Art is the physical manifestation of the impossible. It is the only outlet where imagination can be materialised and shared without censorship or limitation. It is a wondrous thing to fall into the world of a painting, or be seduced by the tactile forms of a sculpture. Just as it allows the artist to communicate the intangible and unspoken, it allows the viewer to experience new emotions and sensations. The Land of Wonder is an exhibition that celebrates the power of imagination and creativity, showcasing the artistic ‘wonder lands’ of 14 artists.

Adorned with a selection of new paintings, prints, photographs and objects, Otomys will be transformed into a ‘wonder land’ itself. The artists are challenged to create a work of art that embodied their perception of a ‘wonder land’, whether this be an imaginary place or experience, or an object, colour or texture that evokes wonderment. By collating a selection of art that embodies the personal ‘wonder lands’ of each artist, viewers are invited to marvel at the diversity of human creativity and imagination.
