Born to Blossom, Bloom to Perish
Emma Pidré

N.A.S.A.L. is pleased to present Born to Blossom, Bloom to Perish, the artist's first solo-show in Mexico City.

Emmanuel Pidré (1989, Buenos Aires) is an Argentinian artist currently living and working in Basel, Switzerland. He holds a Diploma in Visual Arts from Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin and an MA from the Institute Art Gender Nature / FHNW Basel, under the direction of Prof. Chus Martínez.

Pidré’s sculptural and installation-based practice investigates the tensions between subject, object, and space, particularly through the lens of desire, historical violence, and systemic power. His work often draws from the symbolic vocabulary of medieval ironwork to reflect on contemporary structures of control—where discipline, punishment, and intimacy collide. Through a material language that embraces both craft and critique, his work exposes the ideological frameworks embedded in the making of objects and the construction of space.

Recent exhibitions include the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (Riga), Sesc (São Paulo), Palais de Glace (Buenos Aires), Kunst Raum Riehen (Basel), Kunsthalle Palazzo (Liestal), and Kunsthaus Baselland (Baselland), among others.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a curatorial text by Chus Martínez.
