Contemporary Istanbul 2026, Booth B120

This year, we present four exceptional, internationally acclaimed artists with diverse visual languages and expressions.

Olena Zubach's vibrant still lifes boast a range of colour schemes, all featuring objects designed, 3D-printed and painted by the artist herself. Using her ingenious talent, she combines these elements to create a unique dimension and her own visual language.

In Luzia Simons’ artistic practice, flowers have long been the central motif, highlighted by her use of the scanogram technique. Pushing the boundaries of her creativity even further, the artist has also created unique embroidered tapestries, bringing floral motifs to life in the textile medium, as well as delicate watercolours of flower petals and a large-scale collage, bridging the gap between realistic and abstract floral depictions.

Roger Ballen's sombre and dark scenes from his series The Theatre of Apparitions offer a stark contrast. Having invented a new hybrid aesthetic of drawing, painting, collage and sculptural techniques called the "ballenesque", Ballen's work is still firmly rooted in photography.

Euro Rotelli's snapshot-like series offers a humorous look at the beach at night once the crowds disperse and the autumnal curtain is drawn over these places. A sleepy world is waiting for the timely signal of the end of the hibernation, the awakening to both new and returning life, a ritual repeated year after year.
