"To everything there is a season… a time to gather stones, and a time to cast them away." — Ecclesiastes 3:5
A time to cast away stones – what might this mean, if not destruction, if not scattering them across the field, or hurling them at one another? It is an acknowledgement that faith alone is not enough. In this new chapter, following A Time to Gather Stones at the Crypt Gallery St Pancras, artist Anna Kiparis seeks to restore the verse to its original tension by returning faith to its necessary second act, while giving precedence to more difficult questions: what does our time ask of us when waiting is no longer an option? What might we do, here and now, while stones are still being cast?
