TAEX is delighted to announce the opening of its first permanent gallery in Mareterra, Monaco’s new waterfront district. The space will be inaugurated with Testing Ground, a solo exhibition by Paris-based conceptual artist Kevin Abosch, on October 9, 2026 and running through the end of November.
Founded in London in 2020 with a programme dedicated to contemporary art, TAEX brings an international perspective to Monaco, drawing on its presence at major art events including Art Basel, Paris Photo, ART SG and Tokyo Gendai, as well as collaborations with leading figures in contemporary art, notably Marina Abramović.
TAEX has already established a presence in Monaco through a series of presentations in the Principality, including showcases during the Monaco Grand Prix in 2025 and a special integration at artmonte-carlo that same year featuring Marina Abramović. The opening of a permanent space in Mareterra’s landmark Le Renzo, developed by the Pritzker winner Renzo Piano, builds on this existing history and deepens TAEX’s long-term engagement with Monaco’s cultural landscape.
The opening of TAEX Gallery Monaco marks a new chapter in the gallery’s development, establishing a permanent space for a programme that brings together internationally recognised artists whose practices engage with the defining questions of contemporary culture.
For its inaugural exhibition, TAEX presents Kevin Abosch, an artist with whom the gallery has developed an ongoing collaboration across major international presentations, including Art Basel. The exhibition Testing Ground brings together new, never-before-seen works from Abosch’s latest body of synthetic photography, created specifically for TAEX Monaco, alongside works from ETHICAL WORK, first presented by TAEX at Paris Photo in 2025, and the exceptionally rare artwork Potato #345 (2010). An artwork from the series famously sold for more than €1 million to a private collector.
With Testing Ground, TAEX Gallery Monaco opens with an exhibition that traces the evolution of an artist who has consistently questioned the systems through which images acquire meaning. Moving between photography and machine intelligence, the presentation reflects a practice in which technologies evolve while fundamental questions of identity, perception, truth and value remain.
