Chemould CoLab and Space Studio present their first collaborative group exhibition, featuring eight alumni from the Space Studio residency programme.
The exhibition explores the mind and body of the artist as points from where thought and affect begin and return. With a metaphor of the mind as a home, the works explore mediums inspired by nature, juxtapositions of indoors and outdoors, and everyday table conversations across marbled food and home objects with embedded construction material. Concave and convex reflections are set within works that absorb thought while also pushing one back to observe personal associations with another's perspective. These layers of vision are woven into textile works created from family fabrics and memories. The artists created works for this exhibition as a form of delving into personal narratives of their journeys beyond art alone. While moving through the space, viewers are invited to thread their memories into dialogues with this intimate home of echoes from their minds.
