FIRETTI CONTEMPORARY

I PUT MY BRAIN ON PAUSE!

BY IHAB AHMAD (LEBANESE, B. 1983)

This new body of work marks a bold turning point in Ihab’s practice — a move toward instinct, spontaneity, and emotional exploration. For the first time, smiling faces populate his canvases, each one a reflection of the people and encounters that have left a joyful imprint on his life. Ihab also embraces new materials, introducing oil and spray paint — both relatively new to his practice — applied on linen to create richly layered, expressive surfaces. These gestures blur the line between abstraction and figuration, reflecting a deeper trust in intuition and emotional release. Alongside the paintings, he will also be introducing a new series of sculptures that echo the playful, totemic language of this visual world.
