林宜姵 Lin Yi-Pei

1991年生於臺灣,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學美術創作研究所繪畫組,作品脈絡關注在當代人類之間的情感狀態及諸多層面。藝術家以自身童年陰影及親密關係中經歷對女性的貶抑與不公,反思現今人類在關係中認知自我價值的存在焦慮。作品以陰性抒情且淡雅的色調做為繪畫語彙,配置暗藏於畫面中相互牽引的物件線索,試圖將抽象的情緒感知與時間的流轉,以具象繪畫帶出開放式的故事情節。在不把每件作品故事與立場鮮明袒露在觀者眼前的前提下,開放給觀者在觀看作品時,自由投射自身在不同情感關係中的種種面向與經歷,抑或以身處同個世代的集體潛意識共感那些細膩至無法一言以蔽之的情感。

Lin Yi-Pei (b. 1991, Taiwan) graduated from the Taipei National University of the Arts with a MFA in Fine Arts. The context of her works has always been concerned with the emotional state and the many levels of contemporary human beings. Lin reflects on the existential anxiety and cognition of self-worth in relationships through the devaluation and unfair position towards women she experienced in her childhood and intimate relationships.

Objects are deployed purposely in the pictorial space as hidden clues with feminine, lyrical, and elegant hue; Lin attempts to evoke the abstract sensory experience and the flow of time by building open-ended narratives with figurative painting. The viewers are invited to transpose their experiences, desires, memories, and perceptions onto the unexposed storyline behind each piece. Or even to evoke the mutual understanding of the same generation that is too delicate to conclude.

Her most important solo shows include Preface: Tracing Back in Time, BACK_Y (2024), Blow over the Day, YIRI ARTS, Taipei (2019); The Final Mild Blue, YIRI ARTS, Taipei (2017); and Sorry to Leave, YIRI ARTS, Taichung (2015). Selected group shows include 2020 Kaohsiung Award, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Kaohsiung (2020); Explicit & Cryptic: The OO Age, Changhua County Art Museum, Changhua (2015), and New Artist, Huashan1914 creative park, Taipei (2014&2015).
