die Hingabe zur Kunst, Gestaltungs-freiraum und last but not least ein Ort, wo dies alles und alle vereint: Die neue Halle Studio X2732, geplant und errichtet vom Architektenpaar Mascha Veech-Kosmatschof und Stuart Veech (Veech x Veech). Hier finden Produktion, Präsentation und ein intensiver künstlerischer Austausch statt. Die Halle ist ein Resonanzraum für Bildende Kunst, Architektur, Design und einen weltoffenen Dialog.
Die aktuelle Ausstellung Grenzgänger versammelt Arbeiten des Künstlerpaares Elena Koneff (*1939, Moskau) und Vadim Kosmatschof (*1938, Kaluga) aus den 1970er-Jahre bis heute, die den lichtsensitiven, schwarzen Objekten von Stuart Veech (* 1964, Chicago) gegenübergestellt werden.
Abstraktion und eine reduzierte Farbigkeit, der Fokus auf die Kontraststärke von schwarz und weiß, sowie das Ausreizen materialästhetischer Aspekte ziehen sich durch die Arbeiten der drei Kunstschaffenden: Von Elena Koneffs legendären plastischen Faserreliefs, den Black Reliefs, über Vadim Kosmatschofs avantgardistische Wassermaschinen aus Industrieporzellan und Metall sowie seine fulminanten Objekte aus Holz und Stahl, bis hin zu Stuart Veechs dynamisch-minimalistischen Objekten, die mit der Spannung des Materials, mit Linienführung und der wechselnden Reflexionskraft von Licht experimentieren.
An unremitting crossing of boundaries between tradition and innovation, between cultures and languages, between media and materials, studded with intrepid conquests of the limits of possibility: this aptly describes the lives and work of the Veech-Kosmatschof-Koneff family of artists.
Alongside their courage to risk radical changes in their lives, they are united
in their dedication to art, their creative and personal freedom, and – last, but not least – in having a place where all
of this, and all of them, come together:
the new Studio X2732, designed and built by architects Mascha Veech-Kosmatschof and Stuart Veech (Veech x Veech). Here, production, presentation, and intensive artistic exchange take place. The building is a resonating space for the visual arts, architecture, design, and open-minded dialogue.
The current exhibition Grenzgänger brings together works by the artist couple Elena Koneff (*1939, Moscow) and Vadim Kosmatschof (*1938, Kaluga) from the 1970s to the present, juxtaposed with light-sensitive, black objects created by Stuart Veech (*1964, Chicago).
Abstraction and a reduced color palette, a focus on the powerful contrast of black and white, as well as an exploration of the aesthetic aspects of materials, are leitmotifs linking the works of the three artists: from Elena Koneff’s legendary plastic fiber reliefs, the Black Reliefs, to Vadim Kosmatschof’s avant-garde water machines made of industrial porcelain and metal as well as his powerful sculptures in wood and steel, to Stuart Veech’s dynamic minimalist objects, which experiment with the tension of material, the flow of line, and the changing reflective properties of light.
