into the vortex

For our debut at Investec Cape Town Art Fair, O’DA Art presents Into the Vortex, a conceptual and visual immersion into the forces that shape contemporary existence: movement, upheaval, memory, transformation, and the circulation of influence.

The vortex is understood here not as collapse, but as convergence: a charged space where histories, symbols, emotions, and energies are drawn together, collide, and re-emerge in new configurations. It is both inward pull and outward expansion. The presentation invites viewers to step inside this state of becoming, encountering works that operate within flux, tension, and reconstitution.

Bringing together the practices of Abe Odedina, Isaac Emokpae, and Simon Ojeaga, Into the Vortex unfolds as a layered dialogue between myth, perception, and structure, three distinct approaches to navigating and articulating storytelling.
