Arco - Art & Nature: Inside and Out - VILLA ANCONATI

The exhibition features works by 40 international artists, ranging from well-known names to emerging talents. They will transform the 17th-century villa and its surrounding landscape, exploring themes of nature, architecture, and artistic expression.

The exhibition spreads across Villa Arconati’s grand halls, stables, lemon house, and park. Artworks are positioned throughout the space to blend the historical setting with contemporary creativity, making for an enriching visitor experience.

Diana Segantini is a curator and producer of exhibitions, films, and cultural projects. Since founding Segantini Unlimited in 2009, she has worked on art, sustainability, and philanthropy initiatives. She has held key positions in cultural institutions, including Swiss Radio and Television RSI and the cultural department in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She currently works with Art Basel, the St. Moritz Art Film Festival, and the University of Lugano’s Middle East Mediterranean Summer School, among other projects.

Just 10 km from Milan, Villa Arconati is a remarkable example of a villa di delizia (pleasure villa). Once home to twelve original Leonardo da Vinci Codices, the estate covers 10,000 square meters and includes a 12-hectare park with rare Italian and French-style gardens.

Its highlights include the Pompeo Magno statue (one of the largest Roman sculptures in Northern Italy), a fresco by the Galliari Brothers (La Scala’s first set designers), and the stunning Sala degli Specchi (Hall of Mirrors) in Lombard Baroque style.

Managed by the non-profit Fondazione Augusto Rancilio, the villa has been undergoing restoration since the early 2000s, preserving its cultural and artistic heritage.
