Anna Pogossova | Works Available

‘X (Satellite)’ explores the hidden mythologies of objects. In creating an artificial world using recognisable images from popular culture, Pogossova creates otherworldly objects that transcend time.

Inspired by science fiction and cinematic techniques, for this exhibition the artist splices together two diverse concepts - space and the baroque and maps out a hypothetical future. Resulting in a romanticised visualisation of space, the use of recognisable but seemingly unrelated iconographies that reconfigures the mode of reception and underlines the experience of seeing itself.

Each piece in ‘X (Satellite)’ speaks to Pogossova’s exploration into the materiality of photographs and how they might be perceived as sculptural objects. Through the use of digital manipulation and layers of resin, the artist transforms the once photographic into something completely other.
